The biggest bottleneck at the earliest stages of commercialization is access to entrepreneurial talent. Seasoned entrepreneurs are necessary to help develop deep and nuanced business planning, to network with industry partners critical for growth and development, and to seek regulatory approval and other activities. The UT Horizon Fund facilitates formation of new startups and brining in entrepreneurial talent to lead new startups during their earliest stages. By doing so, UT System can position startups so that they can bring on board key leaders necessary to identifying investors, network with industry, and plan accordingly over the long haul.
